The two millenia of turbulent history on an islet situated in the straits
between hills, fertile fields and the Ciovo coast. A long time before Christ
Illyrians, Greeks and Romans started writing it by founding the city, and it
continued in the 7th century by Croatians who, either in an independent commune
and their state or under foreign rulers (Byzantium, Hungary, Venice, France,
Austria) raised Trogir into one of the most beautiful cities on the Adriatic
coast.
